In GrowERP like in Moqui I have a demo system. However with a important difference, it is required in GrowERP to register with an email address before you can try the system. I take these email addresses and feed these into a weekly email mailing list.
Manually you can subscribe here
With this i get almost 2 new subscribers per day.
Sure you have to create a new email every week, i did this now for over a year alone and sure it is gets easy when more people are involved like in Moqui?
What would we do with the email addresses? I guess the closest things we have to this is are the forum here and the google groups mailing lists. How would these email addresses be related to those existing resources?
The existing resources you mention are mainly passive except perhaps for the forum update.
The advantage of an email list is that Moqui will stay at Top-of-Mind of potential users, even if they do not read them. Every week an email with interesting content about moqui will remind its existence to a (potential) Moqui user or developer. We as a community should be able to create an article per week, and ofcourse a little promotion for the person writing the article?
Further when we have enforced registration we could send an onboarding email sequence how to get started with Moqui.
We could use one of the automatic email sender companies for less than $10 per month.
